Queen Mary's School was established by Mr. K.J. Mathews and Mrs. Molly Mathews in 1981 and then registered under the aegis of Queen Mary's Educational Society, Cuttack in 1989. It has been recognized by the D.P.I, Odisha in 1992 and is accorded COR and was affiliated to the Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (C.I.S.C.E), New Delhi in 2000.

Academics
The academic year starts from the month of April and ends in March of the following year, with the final Examination. The syllabus followed will be according to the I.C.S.E Delhi. The medium being English, great stress is given to spoken English and is encouraged among students from Std. I and above, as a medium of communication within the school premises.
