1) APPLICATION & ADMISSIONS
Application forms along with prospectus can be had from the month of January on payment of the requisite amount at the school office.
Admission to the Nursery and other classes starts from the month of January. We admit children of 3 (three) years to the Nursery. Admissions to the higher classes up to IX will be done subject to the availability of vacancy and on the
merit of the student. Both the parents/ guardians of the students are expected to be present at the time of the admission of their ward. A copy of the date of birth certificate/ Aadhaar Card is to be submitted along with the application form.
2) STUDY
The syllabus followed will be according to the I.C.S.E., Delhi. The medium being English, great stress is given to Spoken English right from the Nursery classes and only English is allowed from Std. 1 and above, as a medium of communication within the school premises. Hindi and Odia are also taught from Std. 1.
3) WORKING DAYS AND HOLIDAYS :
The academic year starts from the month of April and ends in March of the following year with the final examination.
Classes are conducted on all weekdays except on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Extra classes maybe conducted on Saturdays with prior notice. School
vacations, holidays and school programmes are indicated through School Calender.
4) TIME TABLES :
There are two kinds of timetables followed; one regular time table which is followed for most of the academic year; another summer time table which usually follows morning school pattern in March, April and May.
Regular: from June to February - 7:10 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
10:45 A.M. to 3:55 P.M.
Summer: from March to May - 6:10 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
(Timings given above may change as per requirement)
5) SCHOOL UNIFORMS :
The students are expected to wear the prescribed school uniform only, except on Friday when they must wear the P.T./ Scout & Guide/ N.C.C. Uniforms.
Parents have to take care that their children come to school neatly dressed in proper school uniform. If for any reason, the student is not able to wear full school uniform at any time, parents should inform the Principal through written application. The students are also expected to observe the COVID-19 safety protocol (Use of face mask and sanitizers, whenever necessary)
6) EXAMINATIONS AND EVALUATIONS :
A. The academic year starting from the 1st week of April is split into two main parts :
Each part consists of One Unit Test and a Terminal Exam.
PART - I
1st Unit Test 20 Marks
Project/Assignment 10 Marks
1st Term 70 Marks
Total : 100 Marks
PART - II
2nd Unit Test 20 Marks
Projects/Assignment 10 Marks
2nd Term 70 Marks
Total : 100 Marks
B. The annual assessment of a student in each subject will be out of a total 100 marks.
C. The pass marks in each subject will be 40 marks.
D. The progress reports must be collected by the parents/guardians only, alongwith their wards after every terminal examination; unit test marks are given to the students directly.
E. Internal Assessment is an integral part of I.C.S.E. Syllabus; From Class - V onwards, the students will be given assignments and project work, the marks of which are added in the total.
F. A pupil is required to have completed satisfactory courses in all of these :
a) A Third Language
b) Art
c) Physical Education
d) Education In Moral And Ethical Values
e) S.U.P.W.
G. If a pupil is absent in any of the unit tests, no re-test shall be given. However he/she is required to submit a medical certificate for leave of absence. Genuine medical problems may be considered sympathetically at the time of promotion.
H. In case of any dispute or questions concerning the matters of results/ promotions or any other matters concerning the child's education and growth in the school, the Principal's decision shall be final and binding.
7) FEES :
A.
The school does not receive any sort of grant-in-aid either from the Govt. or from any other agency. The only source of income of the school is the fees levied from the students. The fees is levied taking into consideration the financial requirements of the institution, in consultation with the parents/guardians. The fees levied can change from year to year, depending upon the increase in salary of the teachers, cost escalation, developmental needs of the institution etc.
B.
The particulars of the fees-schedule may be had from the office as it varies from class to class. Fees cards are issued to all the pupils, giving details of all the payments.
C.
All fees are payable in advance. It may be collected Quarterly or Yearly, which is left to the option of the parent/guardian, to be indicated in this diary.
D.
Fees once paid will not be refunded. A pupil shall be liable to pay all the fees of the term during any part of which his/her name is on the rolls. If a pupil leaves the school during the month/term, he/she has no right to claim remission of any part of the fees.
E.
T.C. may be issued only on payment of all pending dues if any.
F.
A fine may be levied for the late-payments. If fees is not paid for 3 consecutive months and no plausible explanation for the delay comes forth to the satisfaction of the Principal, the name may be struck off the rolls.
G.
No pupil will be admitted to any of the examinations, if any dues is pending. It is in the interest of both the pupil and the institution to pay up their fees in time to avoid unnecessary and unpleasant situation.
8) SUSPENSION AND DISMISSAL :
The Principal reserves the right to dismiss from the school, any student whose conduct, in his/her opinion, is against the good moral tone of the school, like immorality in word or action, grave insubordination, contempt of authority, constant flouting of the rules and harassment of other students, unsatisfactory progress in studies, use of unfair means in examinations or conduct which is harmful to one-self and other students.Any such things that go against the code of conduct can be reasons for expulsion from the school. Parents/Guardians are expected to have understood all the rules and accept the judgement of the Principal/ School Authorities in such matters as final.
9) SPORTS & GAMES/ CULTURAL ACTIVITIES/ PRIZES & AWARDS:
A. Physical Education plays a very important part in the development of a sound personality, not only physically but intellectually and psychologically as well. It is, therefore, compulsory for each student to take part in any one of the
disciplines of sports or games.
B. To nurture the latent cultural and literary talents in the children, and to promote co-operation and team spirit, group loyalty and brotherhood and a spirit of healthy competition, various inter-house and class-wise competitions are held.
For Sports and Games in the month of January.
For Cultural and Academic items - in August.
C. Competitions are held and encouragements are given generally in the following disciplines :

10) SPECIAL COACHING :
In the present day world nourishing the in-born talents in sports and games, dance and music and other art forms, with emphasis on the special coaching is a necessity.
Therefore opportunities are provided to those who wish to master these fine arts like Odissi Dance or Modern Dance & Martial Arts like Karate, Judo & Yoga etc. Vocational coaching camps are also conducted in the various disciplines of sports & games. Students are encouraged to take part in N.C.C., Scout & Guides & Bulbul activities.
11) HOUSE SYSTEM :
To instill into the minds of the students, a sense of responsibility and belonging, co-operation and team spirit, all the students from Std-1 are divided into FOUR HOUSES: RED, YELLOW, BLUE AND GREEN.
Each house is headed by a team of teachers who engage and guide the students in various activities of education, sporting and social relevance.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS :
1) Each student must bring the school diary daily to the school.
2) All students must reach the school at least five minutes before the first bell. Late comers may not be allowed to attend the classes and late arrival may be notified in the school diary and shown to the parent who should take appropriate action about it. If repeatedly late, then the parents will be called and appropriate action will be taken.
3) Students coming to school escorted by a Parent/Guardian/Attendant should never leave the school premises on their own. In case of delay of the Parent/Guardian/Attendant, children should report the matter to the school office. (As a rule, parents should have been intimated before-hand if a student has to stay back in the school after school-hours)
4) Attendance of the school assembly is compulsory for all. Frequent absence may call for punitive action. Absolute silence must be maintained after the second bell.
5) 75% attendance is compulsory for all classes for being able to appear for the final examination.
6) A child's leave absence on medical grounds should be justified by the submission of a certificate of illness from a registered medical practitioner. In particular, a child returning to school after suffering from an infection or contagious disease should produce a doctor's certificate permitting him/her to attend the school.
7) No leave of absence may be granted except on a pre-application from Parents/Guardians mentioning genuine reasons. In case of unexpected absence, the pupil should bring a leave letter signed by the parent and submit it to the class teacher on his/her return to school.
8) Repeated absence without sanctioned leave or unexplained absence for more than ten consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the school roll. If re-admitted he/she will be required to pay the re-admission fee.
9) Things belonging to Library, Laboratory and Computer Lab and other valuables are for the use of the students and to help them to progress in their studies; Hence they should take extreme care and feel proud to protect and guard these things.
10) Care must be taken for all the school properties and no student should scratch or spoil the school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or damage anything that belongs to the school. Strict action in the form of fine or even dismissal may be taken on anyone found indulging in such acts.
11) Library books should positively be returned to the library on the due date failing which a late fee of Rs. 1 per day. per book may be charged.
12) Text books/exercise books should be neatly covered with brown paper and their names and addresses neatly written.
13) Students generally should not enter or remain in the class room during games or recess periods, to avoid complaints about the loss of food, money or property of their class mates.
14) Students should take pride in wearing the school uniform. Make sure everyday that your uniform is neat and tidy.
15) Pullovers or sweaters, bags, boxes, etc. should bear your name and class.
16) IMPORTANT
Make sure that you have got all your belongings, books, pens, pencils, tiffin box, water bottles, keys, etc. in your bag before you leave the school.
SOME DO'S AND DON'T'S :
1)
"Discipline" is the watchword of a Queen Marian, The students should remember and feel proud that they belong to this school. Wherever they are, be it in the school or at home or on the road or anywhere, they must carry themselves as disciplined children. They should remember at every moment that the reputation of the school is judged always by the conduct of the students.
2)
A student must be courteous, polite and friendly. He is always truthful. He knows that cruelty is the trait of a bully, while kindness is the mark of a gentleman/lady.
3) They should be ready to help others and accept graciously the work assigned by the teachers, and learn to face difficulties courageously, and be sensitive to the pains and problems of others. He never makes fun of the old or the poor, or of his companions who are handicapped or less fortunate, for he knows that God's hands rest lovingly on the heads of these.
4) Shouting, screaming, howling, whistling or dashing around are not marks of a disciplined student. Remember; he/she never quarrels, cheats or is unfair at play.
5) It is strictly forbidden to use slang/ fowl language Remember, students are to speak only in English in the school premises. He should be well-mannered in talk and behaviour.
6) Lending or borrowing of money or other articles or any other transaction of any nature are not permitted in the school premises.
7) Students should not wear or bring Gold or precious jewellery items to
the school and bringing of valuables like electronic gadgets, smartwatches, I-pods, I-pads, tablets, Mobile Phones and other costly items are strictly prohibited, Neither are they allowed to bring any sharp or harmful instruments to the school.

Cycles must be locked and parked properly at the parking zone. No scooters, mopeds, bikes or cars are allowed to be brought to school.
9) A student learns to respect the rights of others, both at home and in
the school. He/She never laments or grumbles over the inconveniences of the world, but tries to make it a better place to live in.
10) A student is always enthusiastic to take active part in S.U.P.W. and other various co-curricular activities of the school. He/She knows that they too are integral part of the school curriculum and syllabus, and that it prepares a pupil to practise and perform manual work individually and collectively, and that it inculcates a positive attitude of team work and socially desirable values like, self-reliance, dignity of labour, tolerance, co-operation, sympathy and helpfulness.
XVI. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS :
1) Parents are requested to read and explain the school rules to their wards. The school alone cannot mould the child into a good citizen. He is the product of both home and school. Remember; Charity always begins at Home.
2) The child has to be registered in the school by depositing the registration fees (admission form). Parents must attach the xerox copy of the Birth Certificate of their ward with the Admission form.
3) Parents are requested to see that their wards attend school regularly and look into their irregular attendance, habitual idleness and neglect of school and home-work, disobedience and disrespect towards teachers and seniors. if any.
4)
Please ensure that earliest possible action is taken by the parent/guardian on the letters, notices or WhatsApp messages (SMSes) sent to them from time to time. Parents are requested to co-operate with the school authorities in the work of education: to inculcate in them the social and moral values of neatness, politeness, punctuality, courtesy, discipline and good manners.
5) Your ward should not bring money or costly articles to the school; Neither should they bring any sharp or harmful instruments to school.
6) Once a child is in the school he/she shall not be allowed to go home early. In case of sudden illness, the parents will be intimated and may take the child home, after submitting a written application.
7) Parents/Guardians are not allowed to go to class rooms or to their wards directly without permission of the Principal.
8) Interaction between parents and teachers is encouraged. However, a parent desiring to meet a teacher should take confirmed prior-appointment by sending request in the diary at least one day in advance. Teachers may not be available otherwise.
9) Kindly intimate the school authorities about the change of address and telephone numbers (WhatsApp) at the earliest.
10) Kindly refer to the school calendar for holidays and other programmes, instead of making queries on phone.
11) Parents are requested to keep at home the children who feel feverish or otherwise ill, even if it means missing a test. Children will not be allowed out of school during class hours for medical check ups or any other reasons. It is not fair to disturb the rest of the children in the class. Genuine cases will be dealt on the real time basıs.
12) IMPORTANT
Only parents should come to the school alongwith their wards if need be, to take the report cards. Parents are expected to discuss their child's progress in school and other related matters with the concerned teachers on that day. Report
cards will not be given through attendants or servants.
Children cannot be made good
by making them happy.
But they can be made happy
by making them good.
